Due to the ongoing restrictions related to the COVID-19 pandemic, we would like to give you a short update on our current home finding services.
It is true that there are less offers on the market, as many realtors are working less or do not work for longer periods of time. However, private offers and furnished apartments are still available.
Furnished apartment providers in particular seem to be more open for negotiation.
Viewings are restricted to one single person at a time (home finding consultants will not be able to accompany the clients, but are available via phone or video call during the viewing).
Some providers review applications beforehand and provide virtual tours to pre-select potential tenants with high chances to rent the apartment. Therefore, it is very important to have all relevant documents readily available, ideally including a long-term residence permit (visa might not be sufficient for private landlords).
Apartment handovers are conducted with the less people involved, too (home finding consultants support clients via phone or video call or, if possible, enter the apartment together to confirm the handover checklist)
These circumstances may require more flexibility from the tenant’s side, but our home finding consultants will gladly answer your employee’s questions and continue to support them, even if physical meetings are not an option.
We thoroughly discuss all of this with your employee to assess if searching for a new place during the current pandemic is advisable or if temporary accommodation should be extended instead.
