Tax office: - You only need to inform the tax office of your change of address if you move to another city municipality. In this case, it is sufficient to inform the previous tax office of your new address.

Familienkasse / child benefit department

Pension insurance: You must also inform the pension insurance company of a change of address - regardless of whether you are already drawing a pension or are still in the middle of your working life. Depending on what applies to you, you have various options for changing your address with Deutsche Rentenversicherung after moving.

Insured persons: You can notify your pension insurance company of a change of address using a form or conveniently via the online service.

Pension recipients: If you move, inform the Deutsche Post pension service directly of your new address, as payments will be transferred by Deutsche Post AG. You can either use the online service or one of the forms available at any post office.

ARD/ZDF and Deutschlandradio broadcasting fee

You must also inform the Beitragsservice of your new address after moving. This is the only way the Beitragsservice can correctly allocate the broadcasting fees.

If you move within the same city, all you need to do is inform your car insurance company of your new address and have your vehicle documents changed at the vehicle registration office.

If you are moving to another city, you will also need an insurance confirmation card from your motor vehicle liability insurer. The card serves as proof of existing insurance cover and must be presented to the registration office.
Incidentally, you do not need to worry about vehicle tax if you change your address: It will continue to be automatically debited from your account. The responsible main customs office will receive the new address from the registration authority. So you don't have to do anything here - unless your bank details also change. Then you must inform the main customs office responsible. This can be done by post or via the office's online portal, for example.
Banks and credit companies

If you are moving within a town or city, register in person at the new branch. Your bank will usually take care of everything else for you. If you move to another city without changing banks, it is sufficient to inform your old branch of the change of residence.

You should cancel direct debit orders and direct debits that are no longer required (e.g. electricity, gas and water) by the handover date of the old apartment at the latest. However, to be on the safe side, keep the old account for a transitional period.
Clubs and associations

Let them know your new address or, if necessary, cancel existing memberships in good time.
