1. FIRST MEETING

Once our departure services are booked, we will arrange a first meeting or call to discuss all details for your departure.

The best is to meet in the apartment to be able to understand the condition of the apartment and what might be needed before handing the apartment back to the landlord.

2. CHECK CONTRACTS

We will check your lease agreement to understand the termination notice period and in what conditions the apartment needs to be returned to the landlord.

To understand further termination conditions for memberships and contracts that you might have, we will check all those contracts as well.

For our first meeting, you should prepare all contracts, membership agreements, etc., which will need to be terminated so that we will get all necessary information.

3. SENDING CANCELLATION LETTERS

We will prepare and send termination notice letters for all contract partners and cancel your agreements on your behalf.

We will let you sign a power of attorney during the first meeting, which allows us to handle most of the cancellations of agreements on your behalf.

4. FOLLOW UP

We recommend keeping your German bank account open for a while, as some final invoices might be charged only after a few months.

5. RETURN OF APARTMENT

A pre-inspection of the apartment together with the landlord is recommended to discuss the way it needs to be returned to avoid problems during the final handover and deductions from your security deposit.

We may accompany you during the return of the apartment to make sure the landlord signs the handover protocol and the apartment is accepted in the way it is return.

6. DE-REGISTRATION

After completion of the final handover, we will follow up on the return of your security deposit.

We will take care of the de-registration with the city registration office and set a mail redirection with Deutsche Post.

Note: some utilities/contracts can only be terminated once we have received the confirmation for your address de-registration.
